This is supposed to be a promotion for Best Buy credit card holders but it appears to be working for non-holders as well. If you open an HSBC online savings account, they will give you a $25 Best Buy GC. The interest rate is insanely high at 4.65% as these online banks are competing with each other to give the best interest rate possible. All you need to open an account is $1 in your new account. However, keep in mind that there is a $25 account closing fee if you close your account within 6 months of its start date so just keep at least $1 in there for 6 months. :} Even if you don't want the $25 GC, you should check out these online banks because their interest rates are significantly higher than the ones you can get in your local bank.
