Walmart DVD Sale
Walmart has some newer releases on sale for 2 for $10. You can go and check out what the selections are, but some notable ones are Starsky and Hutch, Alexander, Oceans 12, Catwoman, etc. I think it also depends on your store and what they put in the 2 for $10 category. This is a useful program that normally retails for about $20 at stores such as Circuit City or Best Buy. This is a download link that was provided to those who purchased MS Money but the download is available to the public.

Software description: "DeductionPro helps you identify and maximize your deductions. It makes it easy to track both your cash and non-cash contributions during the year, so you get the most from your deductions. New features help you easily find the true fair-market values for more of the non-cash items you donate. Charitable deductions can include both cash and non-cash items, out-of-pocket expenses and even mileage."

This software is useful only if you itemize your deductions. You can use it to track all donations, but I think the real usefulness is in assigning fair-market values for non-cash donated items. You could use it for your 2005 donations (if you have records of what you donated), or use it to track and establish values as you donate stuff in 2006, print summary reports, and enter them on next year's taxes.

Stainless Steel Mandoline Food Slicer -- $29
Amazon has this food slicer which is professional grade for $29. It may seem a little pricey, but these things usually run for much more for this quality. I plan to use it for general cooking purposes but mainly to save money on sliced meats. I can just buy big hunks of ham for the kids' bag lunches now instead of those expensive precut ones. That alone will be worth it! :O)

Rite Aid and Walgreens Offers
This week Rite Aid has a rebate for $10 on the purchase of $15 worth of Pepsi and Frito Lay products. Offer good for the whole month of January. They also have a coupon on the front page of their circular for four 2-liter bottles for 2.96. Then all you need to do is go online at riteaid.com & submit info for the single check rebate.

For those with no RiteAid around, Walgreens has a similar deal where you buy either 8 Pepsi Sodas (on sale this week for $.89) or three 12packs (on sale this week for 3 for 9.00) and then three Frito Lays products...you get a $10 check in the mail (or $11.00 if you accept a Walgreens Gift Card).
